Indian-American shot dead

SILICON VALLEY: An Indian-American clerk at a chain store has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen during a suspected robbery attempt in California’s Vallejo city.

Surinder Kumar was shot dead and police said an undisclosed amount of cash was missing from the register.

Mr. Kumar died early on Friday morning after a customer found him with gunshot wounds behind the counter. — PTI
