Governor’s football tournament

NEW DELHI: The Lt. Governor’s invitational DDA football tournament, beginning at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Tuesday, will have 10 teams including four from Delhi.

The tournament offers prize money of Rs. 4.20 lakh with the winning team getting Rs. 2 lakh and the runner-up Rs. one lakh. There will be prizes for “best players” also.

Punjab Police, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Peerless Sports Club (Kolkata), BSF, J and K Bank, Srinagar, and State Bank of Travancore, (Thiruvananthapuram) are the outstation teams in the fray. — Special Correspondent
