Staff Reporter

ALAPPUZHA: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan will inaugurate the Platinum Jubilee Memorial Cooperative Bhavan of the Kalavoor Service Cooperative Bank at Kalavoor on Sunday.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, bank officials said a shopping complex with 15 rooms attached to the cooperative bhavan would be inaugurated by Revenue Minister K.P. Rajendran while Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac would chair a public meeting to be conducted on the occasion.

The three-day platinum jubilee celebrations would begin on Friday with a procession in the Mannanchery, Mararikulam and Kalavoor areas, they said.

There would be a seminar on ‘Agriculture and Industry’ on Saturday. Agriculture Minister Mullakara Ratnakaran would inaugurate the seminar.

Established in 1928 as the ‘Kalavoor Paraspara Sahaya Sanghom,’ the bank now has over 19,000 members.
