UDF to organise meeting at Palakkunnu

KASARAGOD: The United Democratic Front (UDF) will organise a meeting at Palakkunnu, Uduma, in the district on Febryary 23, against the violent politics being followed by the CPI (M) in the district, UDF district chairman Cherkkalam Abdulla and district convener P. Gangadharan Nair have said.
A meeting of the UDF held at the same venue on February 8 and addressed by Opposition leader Oommen Chandy had been disrupted by opponents. Mr. Abdullah said the UDF did not have faith in the police investigation. He noted that the police had not registered any case on the incident. When the IG went to the spot he was accompanied by those CPI (M) workers who had organised the violence, he said.
