Woman, son held on burglary charge

ADILABAD: One Town police on Monday arrested Miryala Laxmi, 40, and her son Seenu, 18, on charges of burglary and recovered from their possession gold, silver and brass utensils, all valued at Rs. 50,000.

While the two belong to Pittalwada, their accomplice Usman from Gandhinagar, is absconding.

Producing them at a press conference here Sub Inspector L. Jeevan Reddy said Laxmi worked as domestic help in several houses because of which she was able to identify houses for potential burglary. Based on her inputs, Seenu and Usman used to carry out burglaries.

The property that was recovered was alleged to have been stolen from the house of Sriramulu, a superintendent in Social Welfare office here.
