Solatium given

PUDUKOTTAI: Collector D. Uthirakkumaran on Monday gave away solatium totalling Rs.1.75 lakh to seven persons under the Prevention of Atrocities Act.

An official press release here said Mari of Thanikondan, near Avudaiyarkovil, was reportedly murdered in April 2007. Seven persons, including six legal heirs, who were affected parties, got a cash relief of Rs.25,000 each.
