Sangareddy: Two motorcycle riders were burnt to death in the flames that erupted after their vehicle hit a truck coming in the opposite direction on National Highway 7 near Vallur of Chegunta mandal on Monday morning. According to Chegunta sub-inspector Mahesh, Devender (25) of Lingannapet and his friend Narsimhulu of Mallareddypet of Karimnagar district left their home for Hyderabad at around 4 a.m. A truck going towards Nizamabad hit the riders near Vallur. Flames dousedThe motorcycle rammed into the diesel tank of the truck and burst into flames. The truck, which was carrying automobile spare parts, burst into flames and slid down the road dragging the hapless riders under it. Both the young men were charred beyond recognition. However, the Chegunta sub-inspector summoned a water tank belonging to a construction company working on the expansion of the national highway and doused the flames. The heat was so intense that it took almost two hours for the police to control the flames. The driver of the truck is absconding. 15 injuredIn another accident that occurred on the same spot later in the day, 15 passengers of a Maharashtra roadways bus were injured when their bus hit a truck coming in the opposite direction at vallur on NH 7. However, the passengers were allowed to continue their journey after they were given first-aid.
