NEW DELHI: Pleading for inclusion of the National Thermal Power Corporation Union for priority allocation of natural gas produced from the Panna-Mukta-Tapti fields, Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has sought the intervention of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the matter.
Reliance sources said Mr. Shinde wrote to Dr. Singh on February 5 seeking 7 million standard cubic metres per day of gas from PMT fields, the marketing rights of which have now been given to the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL).
