KOCHI: The fourth extra mural expert lecture series, Vidyamritam 2008, was inaugurated by Jancy James, Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, at the Amrita School of Arts and Sciences at Edappally on Monday. She said that commonality of information was an advantage and disadvantage and students should tap the integration of knowledge with the intuitive ability derived from a spiritual and academic background. Swami Poornamritananda Puri delivered the benedictory address. Prem Nair, Medical Director, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, presided. U. Krishnakumar, director of the school, welcomed the gathering. S.K. Ramachandran Nair, senior medical administrator, AIMS, spoke on the occasion. Lecture seriesThe month-long lecture series, Vidyamritam had begun on February 7 and will go on to have lectures on various topics in the Departments of Computer Science and Applications; Linguistics and Cultural Education, Visual Media and Communication and Commerce and Management.
