Highest rainfall recorded in Araku

While the normal rainfall was 12.3 mm, Visakhapatnam district received an average rainfall of 86 mm from February 9 to 11 alone, with February 10 accounting for 46.2 mm. Most of the rainfall was in Visakhapatnam rural and urban mandals in the district. Rainfall was highest in Araku Valley among the agency mandals while Hukumpeta, Dumbriguda, G. Madugula, G.K. Veedhi and Koyyuru received less than normal rainfall even as the plain mandals received more than normal rainfall.
