AAEU to hold hunger strike today

NEW DELHI: The Airports Authority Employees’ Union (AAEU) will hold a relay hunger-strike at airports across the country from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday to press their demands.

Apart from several employees-related issues, the employees’ union has been demanding a re-look at the shutting down of existing airports at Bangalore and Hyderabad when the new ones come up there.

“We also want to know the position of the modernisation plans of the 35 non-metro airports of the country,” said M. K. Ghoshal, general secretary of AAEU.
