Date extended

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Centre has extended to February 15, the last date for students of religious minorities to apply for scholarship for higher studies.

A release issued by Collector R. Jaya on Monday stated that students, including those pursuing nursing/technical diploma courses and in industrial training institutes, could apply. They should submit their applications to their educational institutions. The institutions have been advised to scrutinise the applications, consolidate reports as prescribed on the website of the Union Minorities’ Welfare Ministry (http://minorityaffairs.gov.in/newsite/index.asp) and submit them in compact discs to the District Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Officers concerned by February 20.
