IOC’s action plan

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), to meet the challenges posed by global warming and tough emission norms, has drawn up a major action plan to invest Rs. 9,000 crore in the next two to three years on the ‘Fuels of the Future’ programme.

The programme is an attempt to prepare India to meet the targets set by the new Auto Fuel Policy, pertaining to the quality of petrol and diesel (Bharat State IV or Euro-IV norms) for introduction in 13 major cities, including Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai, from April 1, 2010, according to IOC Director (Refineries) B. N. Bankapur.
