Sutherland takes title

CHENNAI: Sutherland defeated C.H. Robinson by 56 runs in the final of the Corporate Twenty20 tournament, organised by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Veterans’ Association, here.

J.K. Mahendra, Vice-President, Board for Veteran Cricket in India, gave away the prizes.

The scores (final): Sutherland 134 in 20 overs (G. Umapathy 37) bt C.H. Robinson 78 in 15.3 overs (Kamesh four for 18, G. Umapathy three for nine).

Special prizes: Player of the tournament: Gosakan (Sutherland); Best batsman: Sikandar (Universal Relocation); Best bowler: Shankar (Sutherland); Best fielder: Prakash (Amedia).

Agarsen College wins

J.H.A. Agarsen College defeated Vel’s College 25-21, 26-24 to win the Asan memorial inter-collegiate volleyball tournament recently. The third place was taken by R.K.M. Vivekananda College.

Dr. E.K. Purushothaman, Joint Secretary, Asan Memorial Association gave away the prizes.

Semifinal results: Agarsen bt Vivekananda 25-23, 25-23; Vel’s bt St. Louis College for Deaf 25-17, 13-25, 25-21.

HPL advances

HPL entered the knock-out stage beating Concord Coating 3-1 in a men’s third division contest of the 8th Tribology-CTTF inter-institution table tennis tournament at the SDAT-Chandra Academy here recently.

Chess tournament

Easy for Hindu SSS

Hindu SSS defeated Maharishi Vidya Mandir-Hosur by 59 runs in the P.C. Sekhar memorial under-13 cricket tournament on Monday.

The scores: Hindu SSS 135 in 30 overs bt Maharishi Vidya Mandir-Hosur 76 in 23.2 overs (Krishna three for 22, Sabarish three for 11).
