BANGALORE: Seven persons were killed in as many road accidents in and around Bangalore on Sunday night. The police said Mohan (35) was killed on the spot after a multi-utility vehicle (MUV) rammed the motorcycle on which he was riding pillion near Benniganahalli flyover in K.R. Puram traffic police station limits. Mohan, a native of Andhra Pradesh, was a resident of Kasturinagar here. In a hit-and-run incident reported from the same jurisdiction, Sathyanarayana (20), a pedestrian, was killed after a vehicle ran over him near K.R. Puram railway station. The police said Sathyanarayana, a resident of B. Narayanapura, was a labourer. A lorry driver was killed on the spot after he rammed a truck that was ahead of him on Hebbal Ring Road, off Lottegollahalli. The police gave his name as Umesh (25) of Kudligi taluk in Bellary district. Muniswamy (25) was killed and his two friends were injured after a MUV hit them at Somasundarapalya Main Road, off Hosur Road. The Adugodi traffic police, who have registered a case, said that when the three friends were standing on the roadside, the MUV hit them and sped away. Dharani and Arumugam, who were injured, have been hospitalised. An elderly woman was killed after a motorcycle knocked her down while she was crossing the Bangalore-Mysore highway near Hosadoddi village in Bidadi police station limits. She was identified as Rukhia Begum (61) of Devanahalli. The Bidadi police in Ramanagara district have registered a case. A car hit Ramzan (30), a pedestrian at Konappana Agrahara in the evening killing him on the spot. It is learnt that Ramzan was a native of Bijapur and was working as a Class Four employee in a private company. In another accident reported around 10.30 a.m., Mukund, a seven-year-old boy riding pillion on a bicycle was crushed to death after he came under the wheels of a water tanker. The police said that the accident occurred on Dodda Tuguru Road near Electronics City.
