T.P. Rajeevan Kozhikode: Writer and Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Calicut University Thachom Poyil Rajeevan has been selected for the prestigious US-based Ledig House Writer-in-Residence Fellowship. The fellowship carries a grant to travel and reside at the Ledig House Writers’ retreat in Hudson Valley near New York in May. Created in 1992, the Ledig House International Writers Residency is named after the German publisher Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt whose publishing list included prominent writers around the globe. Thomas Wolfe, William Faulkner, Yukio Mishima, Jean Paul Sartre, Vladimir Nabokov, John Updike, Toni Morrison, Albert Camus, and Thomas Pynchon, were recipients of the fellowship. Mr. Rajeevan is the eighth receipt of this fellowship from India and the second from the State after N.S. Madhavan. Indian writers Eugene Datta, Raj Kamal Jha, Ngawang Jinpa, Sharmistha Mohanty, Vibhuti Patel, Mishi Saran, Arshia Sattar had earlier been honoured with this international fellowship in the previous years. The residency is aimed at providing authors a writer-friendly ambience to complete unfinished works they have already undertaken. .
