ATTUR: Residents of wards 7 and 8 in Thammampatti town panchayat staged a demonstration on Monday in protest against the local administration for allegedly using drinking water for the construction of bunds for a stream.

They said that they were already facing shortage in the supply of drinking water. They also urged the administration to ensure quality in the construction of the bunds. Local body officials pacified the agitators.
