Surveyor in Lokayukta net

DAVANGERE: N.R. Shanmukhappa, a surveyor working at the Land Records Department here was caught by Lokayukta police today. Shanmukhappa had demanded Rs. 15,000 from Lingachar of Vinobanagar to change the katha of his house. Though Lingachar gave him Rs. 12,500, he was asked to pay up the remaining, according to Lokayukta sources. Unable to pay, Lingachar complained to the Lokayukta. Shanmukhappa was caught while receiving Rs. 2,500 from Lingachar’s residence in Nijalingappa Layout. —Staff Correspondent
