CHENNAI: It was a proud moment for the 25 youth, on Sunday evening, to be armed with certificates that will guarantee them employment and hopefully, a better life.

The Kerala Catholic Society (KCS), through its Project Trust, had sponsored the 25 candidates selected from various parts of Tamil Nadu to undergoing training in machine operation at St. Joseph’s Industrial Training Institute.

Prabhakar Rao, Executive Director, Sanmar Group, while participating in the certificate distribution function held at St. Theresa’s Church in the city, congratulated the students and the members of the KCS Project Trust on their involvement. Mr. Rao said with numerous construction activities taking place in the city, these candidates would have abundant employment opportunities.

Jeffery, Principal, St. Joseph’s ITI, wanted the youth to work hard and become job-providers rather than job-seekers.

The trust has given training to over 200 candidates in electrical, air-conditioning, garment making, TV mechanic and machine operation, with around 162 candidates getting employed in various organisations. The trust has plans to set up an institute to conduct training in retail trade and in jewellery trade.

C.D. Jose, Managing Trustee of the trust, also participated.
