Monthly puja at Sabarimala temple

PATHANAMTHITTA: The Lord Ayyappa Temple at Sabarimala was opened on Tuesday afternoon for the five-day puja in the Malayalam month of Kumbhom that begins on Wednesday. Melsanthi T.K.Krishnan Namboodiri, opened the sanctum sanctorum at 5.30 p.m. and hundreds of devotees thronged the shrine to offer prayers in the evening. The temple will be closed after the Athazhapuja, in the evening, marking the culmination of the five-day puja on February 17.
