CPI(M) activist stabbed

KANNUR: A Communist Party of India (Marxist) activist was stabbed by suspected Bharatiya Janata Party activists at Ambilat in the Koothuparamba police station limits here on Tuesday. CPI(M) activist K. Bhaskaran (45) suffered stab injuries in his hands and legs in the attack near Karuvankandy temple at Ambilat at around 6 p.m. He was admitted to the Thalassery Cooperative Hospital, the police said. The attack was seen as a retaliation for the assault on BJP activist Vijesh (27) by suspected CPI(M) men at Ambilat on Monday.
