Fishworkers’ plea to government

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Swatantra Matsya Thozhilali Federation has urged the government to give up the move to conduct a fresh inspection for providing permits for outboard engines used for fishing purpose. T. Peter, president and A. Andrews, general secretary of the Federation said in a statement here on Monday that it was only to harass the fish workers. An inspection had been held on October 28 for the purpose. The Malabar area could not be covered during that inspection. They held the officials responsible for it. They wondered why a fresh inspection was being held for the entire State instead of holding it in the Malabar area alone.
