ISLAMABAD: The vehicle of Pakistan Ambassador to Kabul Tariq Azizuddin, who went missing near the Afghan border on Monday, has been found. A search operation for him is continuing in the area. Mr. Azizuddin, who was on his way to Kabul, went missing from the busy Peshawar-Torkham highway, close to Peshawar, in broad daylight. The Pakistan Foreign Ministry is not yet using the word “kidnapped” for the missing diplomat. No group has claimed responsibility for his disappearance. No commentInterior Ministry spokesman Javed Iqbal Cheema declined to comment on reports in the media that militants in the area had agreed to exchange Mr. Azizuddin for the release of Mansoor Dadullah, the Afghan Taliban commander captured in Balochistan on Monday.
