Re-introduction of POTA sought

Correspondent

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Members of the Bajrang Dal and Netaji youth associations have urged the Union Government to reintroduce the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) to curb terrorist activities in the country. Activists from both associations took out a procession here on Tuesday condemning the Centre for its “inability” to curb terrorism. The procession began in front of the Chamarajeshwara temple and culminated at the district office complex, where the members handed over a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.

They said that the people of Karnataka were living in fear due to the increasing terrorist activities in the State.

They urged the Union and State Governments to ban organisations that posed a threat to the internal security of the country.
