Making out a case for HAL airport

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Karnataka Legislative Council chairman B.K. Chandrashekar jumped on the bandwagon of industrialists and airline operators who are in favour of keeping the HAL airport open at least one or two years even after the Bangalore International Airport at Devanahalli becomes operational.

Prof. Chandrashekar told presspersons here on Tuesday that at least domestic air services should be allowed to operate from the HAL airport until the new approach to the Devanahalli airport became easier. “Travelling time and high user development fee proposed by the international airport will certainly jeopardise the interests of domestic travellers.”
