Nityananda Swamy ‘arrested’

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad police have reportedly picked up Nityananda Swamy, from whose house at Borabanda police seized counterfeit currency notes here late on Tuesday night.

Police had been on the lookout for Swamy since his name cropped up during interrogation of some suspects in connection with the burglary in the State Museum a few days ago. Fake currency notes and tiger’s claws were seized from the suspects.

The suspects revealed that they had stolen the currency notes and tiger’s claws from a house in Borbanda. Police raided the house and found some more such currency notes. The needle of suspicion pointed towards Swamy as the house belonged to him. Subsequently, police registered a case against the absconding Swamy.
