Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: A Fast Track Court here has awarded life imprisonment to four persons in connection with the revenge murder of a history-sheeter in front of the Central Railway Station here in 2006.

According to police, Dilli Babu, a history-sheeter, was arrested for the murder of Tulasingh in July 2006. Dilli Babu, who had come out on bail, was returning from the Central Prison (since shifted to Puzhal) after meeting a friend when a gang of five chased him. He was hacked to death inside a police booth near the Central Railway Station on November 7, 2006.

On Tuesday, Fast Track Court-II Judge V. Subramanian sentenced N. Vijayan, N. Ramu (both brothers of Tulasingh), T. Radio Viji (Tulasingh’s son) and D. Napoleon. He, however, acquitted M. Suresh of all charges and ordered his release.

They were found guilty of offences such as criminal intimidation, conspiracy, rioting and rioting with deadly weapons, besides murder.
