Islamabad: Reports from the Khyber tribal agency near the Afghan border where Pakistan Ambassador to Afghanistan Tariq Azizuddin went missing while on his way to Afghanistan said his vehicle had been recovered. The Pakistan government is still not using the word abducted for him. Mr. Azizuddin disappeared from the busy Peshawar-Torkham highway in broad daylight. Interior Ministry spokesman Brigadier Javed Iqbal Cheema declined to comment on media reports that militants had offered to exchange Mr. Azizuddin for the release of Mansoor Dadullah, the Afghan Taliban commander captured in Balochistan on Monday.
