Sonia to open women’s centre

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Women’s Centre being set up by Women’s Fellowship of South Kerala Diocese of Church of South India (CSI) in the capital will be inaugurated by Congress President, Sonia Gandhi on Friday.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Wednesday, CSI Moderator J.W. Gladstone said Mrs. Gandhi will inaugurate the building of the centre and the hall constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.5 crore at a function to be held on the LMS premises.

Dr. Gladstone said the Women’s Fellowship, a major organisation of the South Kerala Diocese of the CSI, aims at uplift and empowerment of women and spearheads many social works. Awareness classes are given in 14 subjects.
