Rs.50 crore for road facility

PUDUKOTTAI: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), under its Rural Infrastructure Development Fund programme, has sanctioned Rs.50 crore for provision of road facility in rural areas in the district, Collector D. Uthirakkumaran said. Presiding over the mass contact day programme at Mirattunilai village near Tirumayam on Wednesday, he said that tenders had already been called for the execution of three works at an expenditure of Rs.84.26 lakh and the works would be taken up shortly.

Road facility between Onankudi Chathiram and Seegampatti will be provided at an expenditure of Rs.35 lakh; between Vadugampatti and Koothampatti at Rs.25.26 lakh; and between Koodalur and Maramadakki at an estimate of Rs.24 lakh.

Tirumayam MLA R.M. Subburam, District Panchayat president C. Muthusamy spoke.
