Children’s film festival in Hassan from Monday

HASSAN: The Children’s Film Festival of India, 2008 will be held here from February 18 to 21, and 12 films will be screened in three theatres.

The festival is being held in Bangalore, Mysore, Hassan, Mangalore and Davangere. In Hassan, six-year-old Shreyas, who is this year’s State Bravery Award winner, will inaugurate the event.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, students Dhavala, Navin, Prajwal, Mamari Kashyap, Tejaswini and Saraditha said the films to be screened were Aa Aaa Ei Eee, Naanu Gandhi, Thutturi, Ekalavya (all Kannada productions), Roses and Rilada Journey (Telugu), Bandu Boxer and Ek Ajuba (Hindi), Malli (Tamil), The Goal (Malayalam), Daamu (Bengali) and The Little Teacher (English). The children said they would have preferred films such as Chak De India and Koi Mil Gaya as well.
