Trupti Nayak bags seven gold medals

DHARWAD: Trupti Nagappa Nayak of the Postgraduate Department of Studies in Kannada of Karnatak University topped the list of gold medallists by bagging seven medals at the 58th annual convocation of the university on Wednesday.

Jomon K. Verghese Antoni P.R. of the Postgraduate Department of Studies in Mass Communication and Journalism has secured the second position by bagging six gold medals.

Chetana Gajanana Hegde of the Department of Studies in Biochemistry; Roopa Radhakrishna Prabhu of the Department of Studies in Mathematics; Sharada Prakash Patil of the Department of Studies in English, Lingaraj College, Belgaum; Pushpa Pradeep Salaskar of the Department of Studies in Political Science; Afreen Anure Gulab (B.Sc.) of BLDEA Arts and Science College, Jamkhandi; and Ujwala Vilas Magadum (B.Ed.) of Chikkodi Taluk Education Society’s College of Education, Chikkodi; have bagged five gold medals each.

Four gold medals: Swati Tukaram Desai, LLB, B.V. Bellad Law College, Belgaum; Bharati B. Uramanatti, M.Ed. (Regular), Department of Studies in Education; Arun C. Yakkundimath, MBA, Department of Studies in MBA; and Mohammed Hanif B. Nashipudi, Master of Library and Information Science, Department of Studies in Library and Information Science. Three gold medals: Mahesh Kadappa Savant, BA (Kannada), SPM Arts and Commerce College, Harugeri; Shweta R. Pant, M.Sc. (Zoology); Priya K. Varnekar, M.Sc. (Microbiology), Department of Studies in Microbiology; and Archana Gurunath Murugod, MA (Sanskrit), Department of Studies in Sanskrit.

As many as 50 students have bagged one gold medal each.
