Belgaum
Belgaum: Belgaum city unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a rally here on Wednesday to create awareness against growing activities of terrorists in the State. The party workers burnt an effigy symbolising terrorism at Rani Chennamma Circle. However, the response to the rally was much less than expected by the party workers. The rally started from Dharmveer Sambhaji Chowk and passed through Kirloskar Road and Ganpat Galli before culminating at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Addressing the gathering, Suresh C. Angadi, MP, and other party leaders condemned terrorism. The presence of youth associated with banned organisations and involved in terrorism only called for greater vigilance both in urban and rural areas of the State, they said.
