Talking progress: Bharatiya Janata Party leader L.K. Advani at the GMIT Engineering College in Davangere on Wednesday. DAVANGERE: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L.K. Advani has said that India is now making its presence felt worldwide. Inaugurating the GMIT Engineering College building here on Wednesday, Mr. Advani said the country should become an “education superpower” in the world, reiterating that it had great potential to do so. He said the brain drain phenomenon that was much talked about a few years ago was no more a reality today, and educated and successful Indians living abroad were returning as there were greater opportunities here. Many foreigners, including those from the West, were coming to India in search of employment opportunities.Mr. Advani stressed the need for implementing a national programme to expand and improve the quality of education right from the primary school up to the university level. Siddeshwar, Davangere MP was present.
