Prizes given to engineering students

TIRUPATTUR: Sri Nandhanam College of Engineering and Technology, Tirupattur, organised ‘my idea programme’ for the students belonging to all branches of engineering. Prizes were given to the best performers.
The first prize went to the fourth year student of computer science engineering while the second and third prizes to third year students of biotechnology.
E. Vidyasagaran, senior scientist of the college, said that the programme was organised with the support of L-RAMP, IIT Madras and VIT Vellore.
The idea contest was conducted for the students of Sri Nandhanam College of Engineering and Technology, where social problems were announced through posters. The participants were allowed to present their ideas for 10 minutes before a panel of judges. College chairman P.M.M. Nandagopal presided over the function. Mr. Vidyasagaran, who was the convener, evaluated the ideas based on innovativeness.tificates of merit. Out of the 18 teams, five were short-listed and would participate in the phase II of the programme.
