Jharkhand reverts to six-day working week

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Government has decided to revert to the six-day working week from March 1, a year after it reduced the number of working days by one in the State government offices.

The cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Madhu Koda, last evening approved of the change.

The five-day week was introduced on January 1, 2007 in all government offices of the State, reportedly with an assumption that the policy could ‘improve work culture’ in the offices.
