KADAPA: Employment-oriented training is being imparted to 10,000 youth in the district with Rs. 12 crore granted by the Government, District Collector M.T. Krishna Babu said on Wednesday. He inaugurated a computer training lab for security guard job aspirants, built at a cost of Rs. 7.50 lakhs at the Police Training Centre on outskirts of Kadapa. Job-oriented training was being imparted in Kadapa, Pulivendula, Jammalamadugu, Porumamilla, Lakkireddipalle and Kodur. Youth were being trained by Police Department for securing security guard posts, he said. Superintendent of Police Y. Nagi Reddy said ample employment opportunities were available to youth. He urged rural youth to utilise opportunities being provided by the Government. Additional SP L.S. Chowhan said 120 youth were trained for security guard selections under the aegis of DRDA. DRDA project director K. Ashok Reddy said 12,000 youth were being given training in the district. Trained youth were securing jobs in reputed companies like IBM and Intel, he said. Kadapa DSP D. Narasimha Reddy, Armed Reserve DSP K. Sekhar and police officials participated. The Collector said three-month residential training was being imparted to youth to gear them up to gain employment. He inaugurated an awareness programme on road safety, AIDS.
