PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry Industrial Promotion, Development and Investment Corporation (PIPDIC) on Wednesday announced its decision to extend the compromise settlement scheme till February 29 to enable the eligible units and borrowers to opt for the scheme. An official release here said that the scheme was introduced in June 2007 for all loan accounts, which were classified as non-performing assets as on March 31, 2006. It was in operation till December 31, 2007. The Board of Directors at their meeting held on January 30 reviewed the progress of the scheme and based on the persistent requests from the industrial units, decided to extend its validity period up to February 29, it added.
