KARUR: The police arrested a Sri Lankan national, S. Rajendran (38) of Thalai Mannar, at Chinnadarapuram on Wednesday. Police sources said he had not reported to authorities since he landed in India in 2000.

He was said to have collected small amounts of money from Sri Lankan Tamils and utilised them for his expenses.

He revealed that he had been a member of the Eelam Revolutionary Organisation of Students while in Sri Lanka and that he did not have other political connections.
