HASSAN: Principal Civil Judge (Senior Division) and Chief Judicial Magistrate N.C. Srinivas here on Wednesday granted 10 days time to Ravi Belagere, journalist, to file his written statement in connection with the suit filed by the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and posted the case to February 23. The Janata Dal (Secular) president has filed the suit against Mr. Ravi Belagere, who is the producer of the film “Mukhya Mantri I Love You.” Mr. Raj Kumar counsel for Mr. Belagere stated that his client was not well and doctors had advised him bed rest for one week. Because of this, the written statement could not be prepared. The counsel prayed that if the application was not allowed, his client would be put to great hardship. OpposedB.S. Venkatesh Murthy and H.K. Javare Gowda, counsel for Mr. Deve Gowda, objected to the granting of more time to the defendant. Mr. Raj Kumar argued that the defendant had 90 days mandatory period to file his written statement.
