This Day That Age
Dr. Frank Graham, United Nations Representative for India and Pakistan, met Prime Minister Nehru on February 12. Their talks lasted for about an hour. The Defence Minister, Mr. Krishna Menon, and the Commonwealth Secretary, Mr. M.J. Desai, and Mr. Ellmore Jackson and Mr. J.F. Engers, Advisers to Dr. Graham, were also present. Neither Dr. Graham nor official circles have given any indication as to how the talks have been going on or what aspect of the Kashmir problem is being discussed, although this is the third round of discussions that the U.N. Representative is having in Delhi since his arrival in Delhi exactly a month ago. Since then he had been to Karachi twice for discussions with leaders of the Pakistan Government. Informed circles here think that it has been impressed upon Dr. Graham that unless Pakistan was made to vacate her aggression on Kashmir, the question of implementing the United Nations’ resolutions did not arise.
