Students told not to neglect co-curricular activities

BANGALORE: Holy Shepherd Education Society held its 16th annual sports meet and prize distribution function recently. Tony Sam George, Head, Counselling Psychology, Mount Fort College, was chief guest. He told the students to give equal importance to both curricular as well as co-curricular activities for their all-round growth.

Novelty races, karate demonstration and colourful drill displays presented by the students marked the day. The school band received a huge applause from the audience for its formation and tunes. The outstanding performers in sports as well as cultural activities at the school, zonal and taluk levels were given prizes.

Franklin Anil Kumar, secretary of the school emphasized on holistic development of students and the support needed from parents to achieve it.

Florence Public School, R.T. Nagar hosted “Florence Cricket Cup” with Lyceum International School, Sri Lanka. The tournament was held in Under 12 and 13 categories. All the matches in both the categories were won by the host teams.

Students standards X and XII of the Delhi Public School (DPS) South underwent their graduation ceremony at a solemn function.

Manju Sharma, Principal, administered the oath.

The candle lighting ceremony, which is symbolic of the passing of “The Flame of Knowledge”, was a moving ceremony.
