Traffic regulations in city today

KOCHI: The city traffic police have imposed certain traffic regulations from 1 p.m. on Thursday on account of Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s visit to the city.

No vehicles will be allowed towards the Marine Drive ground to avoid congestion on the roads leading to the venue. Vehicles bringing participants to the rally from Alappuzha and Idukki areas will reach Kaloor through the NH Bypass road at Vyttila and Palarivattom to reach Jawaharlal Nehru International stadium at Kaloor.

Vehicles reaching the city from the northern districts should reach the Goshree Parking area, those coming from Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta can park the vehicles at Nettoor bypass and those coming from Kottayam should park vehicles at Irumpanam.

All the KSRTC buses coming from Aluva, Paravur, Guruvayur, Thrissur will reach the KSRTC stand via Edappally, Vyttila and S.A. Road and vice-versa. No parking will be allowed on Thursday on M.G. Road, Shanmugham road, Banerjee Road, Park Avenue Road, Foreshore Road, D.H. Road, Church Landing Road and Goshree Road (High Court junction to CMFRI).

Vehicles going to Aluva and Paravur side from West Kochi can reach Pallimukku via Thevara and take S.A. Road to reach Vyttila. Buses from Aluva to Marine Drive can take the route from Edappally to Vyttila on the Bypass and turn to S.A. Road to reach Hospital Road from where the buses should take the return trip.

Buses from Chittoor going to High Court side should reach Kaloor via Elamakkara and then via Pottakuzhi Road to Edappally, from where it can reach Vyttila.
