Bomb threat turns hoax

Staff Reporter

Thiruvananthapuram: A telephone call that a bomb had been placed in Air India’s flight coming from Dubai with 100-odd passengers on Wednesday turned to be a hoax. Airline sources said the call was received at the AI booking office in Vellayambalam at around 7 p.m. An anti-sabotage check was carried out by the personnel of Airports Authority of India , CISF and AI on the flight, which landed here at 7.45 p.m.

The check was carried out by shifting the aircraft to the remote parking bay. There were 12 transit passengers bound for Kozhikode. The flight later left for Kozhikode at around 10 p.m.
