Murder charge: 3 held

The Mirchowk police on Wednesday arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a cook Syed Abdi Ali Abidi (36), at Darulfshifa crossroads on Sunday night.

Abidi was returning home on foot after attending a religious meeting at Darulshifa when the accused, Syed Hasham Ali (36), his brother Syed Hasan Ali (30) and their nephew Syed Amir Ali (22), allegedly attacked him with knives and fled, Mirchowk ACP Ashok Kumar Singh told reporters. Passers-by shifted him to the OGH where he was declared brought dead. During investigation, the police found that Abidi married a woman, who was a relative of Hasham Ali, but split with her due to some personal reasons. Since then, Hasham Ali bore a grudge against Abidi and eliminated him with the help of his brother and nephew, the ACP said.

Property recovered

The Tappachabutra police on Wednesday recovered stolen gold jewellery and electronic goods, all worth Rs. 8 lakh, with the arrest of two persons.

The arrested persons, Md. Kaleem, 26, and Adil Khan, 20, from Jeedimetla, were allegedly earlier involved in house burglaries. After coming out from jail, they burgled three houses in Tappachabutra, two in S.R. Nagar and five in Kukatpally.
