Police practise yoga, meditation

Special Correspondent

MADURAI: Hundreds of police personnel practised yogasanas and meditation at the Tamil Nadu Special Police grounds here on Thursday.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), R. Ramrajan, conducted the sessions in which the participants were also introduced to ‘Mahamantra’ and Transcendental Meditation.

“Considering the lifestyle and work pressure of police, it is essential to practise yoga / pranayama which is a proven system of managing stress. Yoga has the power to prevent diseases,” he said.
