14 get trade loans

KULITHALAI: Karur Collector T.N. Venkatesh disbursed bank trade loans to the tune of Rs. 2.20 lakh to 14 persons at a function at Marudur near here on Wednesday.

While seven carpenters from the Marudur Town Panchayat got Rs. 10,000 each for getting carpentry implements, one person was granted Rs. 15,000 for putting up a teashop.

The credit was arranged through Indian Overseas Bank, Kulithalai.

Through the Marudur Farmers’ Cooperative Society, five persons were granted Rs. 25,000 each for buying milch animals and a carpenter got Rs. 10,000 for buying carpentry implements.

Marudur Town Panchayat president R. Sampath, Indian Overseas Bank, Kulithalai Branch Manager, K. Chokkalingam, and others participated in the programme.

The Collector urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the credit and generate enough income to repay the loan in time.
