Treat for film buffs

KOCHI: The Metro Film Society will hold a one-day film festival featuring the best of the International Film Festival of Kerala 2007 (IFFK).

Five films will be screened at the Fine Arts Hall on Sunday.

These include XXY and 10+4, which shared the Suvarana Chakoram for best picture at the IFFK 2007. Other films to be screened here include Nayi Neralu (In the Shadow of the Dog) by Girish Kasaravalli, Russian film Alexandra by Alexander Sokurov and Turkish film Bliss by Abdullah Oguz.

The Metro Film Society will also release its official journal, ‘Preview.’

Mayor Mercy Williams will release the journal by handing over the first copy to literary critic M. Leelavati.
