State Masters athletics

Madurai: Madurai District Masters Athletic Association will organise the 26th Tamil Nadu State Masters athletics meet on February 23 and 24 at Race Course stadium, here.

Nearly 900 athletes from 21 districts are expected to take part in this meet in 12 age-groups in both sections. Selected athletes from this meet are eligible to represent the State in the National Masters athletic meet at Gauhati in the month of March.

Indian Bank triumphs

Indian Bank (Chennai) lifted the G. Sundararajan Manivizha Trophy defeating Sports Authority of India (Salem) 83-62 in the last match of the semifinal round robin league in the 14th annual Sax Memorial State-level basketball tournament at Dindigul recently.

Indian Bank emerged winner with an all-win record, while SAI Salem finished runner-up losing only to Indian Bank. South Zone Police finished third.
