Akshay hits century
HUBLI: Rotary English Medium High School (Hubli) was 155 for three in reply to St. Paul’s English Medium School’s 230 on the first day of their two-day semifinal in the KSCA Dharwad Zone under-15 inter-school cricket tournament at the Karnataka Gymkhana ground here on Thursday.
Opting to bat, St. Paul’s was helped by A. Akshay’s 132, while R. Murali, S. Vivek and S. Mallik took three wickets each for Rotary School. In reply, Vivek’s unbeaten 70 put Rotary in a strong position.
The scores: St. Paul’s HS 230 in 55.4 overs (A. Akshay 132, M. Sushanth 42, S. Mallik three for 60, R. Murali three for 62, S. Vivek three for 64) vs. Rotary EMHS 155 for three in 49 overs (S. Vivek 70 n.o., H. Ramachandra 35).
